Months in the making, Third Coast Studios is officially open.

If you were to drop a pin on a map of New Orleans, about 4 miles east of the neon bustle of the French Quarter, you’d find yourself on the border of Orleans and St. Bernard Parish.

It’s here, in an unassuming industrial building in New Orleans’ lower 9th ward, that Third Coast Studios calls its home.

We kicked off the occasion on Friday, November 16th, 2018, with a grand opening party to remember. The soundtrack of the night featured live music from local alt/indie/rock bands Fantasy Non Fiction, The Noise Complaints, and Pucusana.

Check out our visual recap of the night in this short video [below].

Located next to Wicked Bros Motorcycles, owner John Franco generously opened the doors to his shop to host our night’s live bands and open bar.

The studio space itself was set up in an open-house style so folks could walk through at their own pace, see the lounge, sound room, and control room.

[Unfortunately, we may have had too much to drink because we can’t seem to find many shots of the studio itself. Oops. Well… more of those to come soon].

For now, enjoy some photos from the night…

We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who came out for the opening party. It means the world to us.

For those who weren’t there, here’s a quick note on what you can expect from Third Coast Studios. [You can also read our mission here].

We’re a fully equipped digital recording studio and video production suite. Our focus is on indie/alt/rock bands and singer/songwriters in the New Orleans area. We record high quality tracks, shoot music videos and live musical sessions, and aim to bring beautiful imagery and critical dialogue to the forefront of the New Orleans indie scene.

Starting in 2019 we’ll be launching Third Coast Magazine, a digital magazine featuring local and touring artists. We also plan to start a non-profit branch offering studio time and production training to youth without resources.

Stay tuned. And if you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to our mailing list [below].
